Title: 26th Dec Boxing Day and beyond again littered by refereeing errors
Post by: trophy4toon on December 28, 2011, 11:08:04 am
It just gets a bit tedious after a while when the officials are not allowed tv replays but everyone else is. It is damaging the credibility of the game yet FIFA still sit back and do nothing but consider goal line technology which is pretty much irrelevant.

Anyway, good summary of the main errors in the Telegraph this morning. Good to see old favourites Howard Webb (overrated) and Stuart Attwell (useless) featuring heavily:

Add to this then Sunderland's Ji Dong-won who's last kick of the game winner for Sunderland against Man City was clearly offside.

A big call to make and quite an impact on both the title race costing Man City a vital point and the relegation battle for which a win allowed Sunderland to lift out of.

Just to finish off, another terrible penalty decision from Howard Webb in the Newcastle v Man United game.

Newcastle's 3-0 victory rather stole the headlines luckily for Webb but his decision to not give a penalty when Ferdinand bundled down Demba Ba in the box was just as bad as his terrible decision to give Everton a penalty against Sunderland when the Everton forward kicked the ground and fell over.

So not a very good Christmas from Howard Webb in the North East then.
