Yes what a day of doom and gloom that was, England the world champions 2-0 up in the hot sun of Mexico against the team they had beaten to become world champions, Germany. Mid way through the second half Sir Alf takes off Bobby Charlton who was looking knackered and had not done much in the match except.......he had stopped the mid field German genius Franz Beckenbauer from going in to the England half too many times because Charlton was always going to be a bit dangerous if left unattended!
You can see Beckenbauer hatching up a plot as Bobby walked off the pitch
" Zee Englander Charlton, has left zee field i vill move forward now. Ya-voul"
And he did, leading the German team to a revenge victory. England might have held on if Charlton could have lasted another 10 minutes or so, that would have saved the blushes of Peter Bonetti who did not perform at the latter end of the game.

On to Tuesdays game,
Montenegro v England, Why are Montenegro top of the group are they good? suppose they must be if they are top. Its going to be another one of those tricky fixtures where we do not want to loose.
I am going Montenegro 1-2 England.

Question 3 of our 1970 memory lane world cup quizz.
Which England player was arrested for allegedly shop lifting while he was relaxing out of the England camp & where was Gordon Banks when England lost that match against Germany?

I won't be watching as football is banned on tele in our house till the end of the season since the Wigan v Newcastle match.

However I think Montenegro will win this 2-0 because England are rubbish.

El Capitano, Bobby Moore for the first part. Not a clue on the second part.

I don't think its fair to have an entirely 1970s based quiz. I was only born 18 years later, which leaves me at a disadvantage.

Well mrmalaki you are correct on the first part of question 3. Bobby Moore was arrested for shoplifting, wonder if T4t knows the answer to the second part of question 3, will give you both till the points tally update on Wednesday to rack your brains on that one. The answer is part of a conspiracy theory i am putting together on why England cocked up in Mexico!

I dont know about you mrmalaki but our leader T4t seems to be in a very rebellious mood at the minute, that Wigan game has got him knarked, next he will cancelling his Sky sports package.

You got a prediction for Tuesdays game?

do you think, if he doesn't want sky sports anymore, he could donate it to a younger t4t member?

Think well knick it by one goal...could be anything from 1-0 to 5-4 but ill go for:
2-1

M2                    13                        6

I think thats about right.
Good first half last night and then crumbled badly in the second half, not beaten which i suppose is good- just dont think we have got what it takes to make on impact in world football at the moment!

Gordon Banks was in hospital during that game against Germany with gastric problems. Thing is no one else was taken ill, had he been nobbled???

Next round of world cup games; september time? cant wait. Plus more world cup trivia, its gota be worth waiting for!

Sorry England fans forgot we had a game against Ireland, as always though the match was forgettable!
Gary Lineaker made some interesting comments on the England game about how we seemed to be going backwards with our progress and it seemed to be like the miserable 1980s all over again for England.
Mean while i think the team are jetting off to Brazil for a friendly against the host nation. Hope we can go there again in 2014!

Brazil 4-1 England

Bring back the home internationals, England used to look like quite a good team in those days.

2-1 to Brazil, wonder if that new Barca forward will actually turn up for this game unlike the Wembley one?

3 mins extra time. Much better from England in the second half.
The thing is this result means not a lot if we cant do the main business of qualifying!
Good result then match finished, its quite good seeing England in the red tops.
Season over, but bring back the home internationals reckon we should play them every other season.
September 2013 see you all then, enjoy the summer.
