I did see the legend known as "Trophy4toon" a couple of months ago. He has been through a lot at work and and home, i think he will be making a come back for the coming season (i hope) we miss his "happy" blogs!!

Well mrmalaki its all over for another 4years. I still think we gave it a go and was pleased when Rooney scored his goal, he had been so close in both games. RH still to manage the team through the 2016 Euros?
I am now looking forward to the Uruguay v Italy match its going to be a cracker!!
Germany v Ghana was entertaining last night as well.

new table looks like this i think!

              Predictions          Points
Slam Dunc    4                      2
Mrmalaki       4                      1
Tooncelona  4                      1

Conclusion; We are not good at world cup predicting.

Just text the leader he is in Spain on a tennis holiday, its all right for some.
Hopes to be in touch when he gets back.

I'm gonna go for the England team getting some final pride out of this and being the only former World Cup winner to not lose to Costa Rica - 1-1

Meanwhile Italy will play out the draw they need to qualify : 0-0

- Re: Fred, yer they could (but shouldn't) have a forward line of Bernard, Jo, Fred and Oscar...what happened to them? Gone are the days of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Bebeto, Cafu and exotic names...

GrpA: Brazil/Mexico - 2
GrpB: Spain/Chile -1
GrpC: Colombia/Ivory Coast - 1
GrpD: Italy/England - 0
GrpE: France/Ecuador - 1
GrpF: Argentina/Nigeria - 2
GrpG: Germany/Ghana - 1
GrpH: Belgium/Russia - 1

So that's 9 out of 16 over 50% is pretty good for me. The only group I got really wrong was England's...

Brazil Chile good game, good game.
Uruguay knocked out...shame.

Final table is looking like this i think?

                   predictions       points
Slam Dunc         6                  6

Mrmalaki            6                  5

Tooncelona       6                  3

Well will you look at that Slam Dunc top, god i hope we can do a bit better in the euros; assuming we qualify!

Still loads of footy to come from 2014.
Netherlands v Mexico this evening looks an interesting fixture!

Ive gone for:

5 from 5 so far (even nailing the scores on 4, when talking with other friends, of them and predicting extra time for Costa Rica)

Just for the record should Germany, Argentina and USA go on to win a 1 bet would have returned 392

Tim Krul called into action, quite an interesting substitution before a pen shoot out; it worked!

Can Holland beat Brazil and what about Argentina V Germany,

Have you checked the odds on a "European" final mrmalaki ? I might check that out myself,

Absolute genius by Van Gaal. It gave Krul the time on the bench to look through (on an Ipad) all the Costa Rican penalty takers and give himself the advantage over them. Apparently all he said to each Costa Rican player was "I know where it's going". And judging by his attempts, he wasn't wrong.

Some people were upset at him for talking to each player every time and thought it wasn't in the spirit of the game, but considering it happens every penalty (often you'll see a defender just whisper in the ear of the penalty taker) I really don't see what people's problem is.

As for a European final the odds aren't brilliant at  7.1/1
An all South American final though is at 5.48/1
