Newcastle 1 Manchester United 5 - Sat 23rd Feb

Being optimistic, Man United had a tough away Champions League game in Lyon last night and might go for some squad rotation.
Newcastle have had 2 weeks without a game and have all their African Nations cup players back now.
Fitness doubts over Given and Martins

Well, Keegan picked virtually the same team and tactics as against Villa and same comments apply.

Why was Given picked to go off injured at half time when we have such an able deputy as Harper who has been playing better than Given this season anyway?
Why is N'Zogbia prefered at left back to the 6 million Enrique, Rooney's goal was so easy, he just trotted past N'Zogbia who was ball watching across the pitch.
Why do we play Butt and Barton in midfield when they categorically fail each game.
Why was Smith picked again to play as the smallest target man in the premier league when we had 6ft 4 inch Andrew Carroll available who frankly could not have done any worse.
Steven Taylor had a bit of a nightmare with a pirouette as Ronaldo streaked past him for the second and a pathetic hash of a tackle as Ronaldo rounded him for the 3rd.
Carroll at least came on and got an assist, actually winning a ball in the air, more than Smith did all afternoon.
The Man United fans entertained us by singing "there's only one Kevin Keegan".
Take nothing away from Man United though. They are one of the top teams in Europe and it showed, they looked like they would score every time they attacked. Totally clinical. Such pace in the team as well.
We are not the first team to look poor against Man United this season.
But can we have a target man up next week against Blackburn or think of some other way of getting through defences other than lofting the ball up to Smith.
Also a different central midfield partnership please with both Butt and Barton dropped would be good.
Howway the lads
