Look whose injured again

As the Physio Room website puts us top of the premiership table with 10 players out injured when is the right time to ditch these injury prone players.

Is Allardyce’s back room revolution going to produce miracles because it seems that that is what we need with some of our players.

Last season we had 9 players, that is a third of the 27 man squad, who had significant absences due to injury. Those being Stephen Carr, Craig Moore, Celestine Babayaro, Olivier Bernard, Damien Duff, Kieron Dyer, Michael Owen, Shola Ameobi and Emre.

Now we currently have 10 players on the injury list physio room and clearly top the Premiership by some distance from Manchester United and Spurs with 6 players out each.

Quite a challenge for the new backroom team and a bit early to judge but there has to come a point when you just accept some players just cannot physically stand up to the rigours of Premiership football. See our feature solving the injury crisis

At least with new signing Cacapa who spent most of last season out injured Allardyce has done his homework, had him physically assessed and declared him in superb physical shape, unlike the existing ones he has lingering in our Physio room.

Problem for Allardyce is as he is finding with Dyer, not all clubs are as quick to pay big fees to sign players with poor fitness records, so how do we get rid of them for a decent price ??
