![]() ![]() ![]() A campaign has been launched with an on line petition to hold some charity matches between Newcastle United and Ipswich Town with all funds going to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation Discuss on our fans forum. The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation is our chosen charity for Trophy4toon and full details can be found here: http://www.trophy4toon.co.uk/sbrcf.html The campaign itself is being organised from here: http://sbrf-appeal.co.uk and requests that you sign an on line petition: http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/19449.html One of the event organisers Mike Jones from Talk of the Tyne has advised us that contact has already been made with Liz Edwards of the Ipswich Town Supporters Club who has pledged their backing to the campaign. The campaign also has the backing of the Football Supporters Federation. The idea is for there to be some friendly matches between the two clubs both at St James’ Park and Portman Road. The target for each match would be £500,000 which would mean a match at each ground putting £1 million into the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. There are also other ideas being floated one of which I particularly like being the idea of a legends match with some places in the team for fans which will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. I can see me now running down the right wing at St James’ Park in front of 52,000 screaming Geordies and putting in a cross onto the head of Alan Shearer to crash into the Ipswich net !!! So please support this campaign by signing the on line petition: http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/19449.html And if you have not already, you can donate money directly into the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation from here: http://www.trophy4toon.co.uk/sbrcf.html Don’t fancy kissing Shearer though after I’ve assisted his goal !!
