An England Coach arrives in the War Room

As Sam Allardyce fires a broadside at Bolton and discusses the concept of his war room the management revolution picks up pace.

Sam is obviously irritated by the re-writing of history going on at Bolton at present. As Phil Gartside announces that Sammy Lee did more to sign players than Allardyce and that Sammy Lee did most of the coaching. Well lets hope Lee did do the coaching at Bolton as that was his job !! We are with you Sam, Phil Gartside we feel is about to discover the difference between a manager and a coach. Anyone remember what happened at Southampton after Harry Redknapp left.

Sam has also been discussing with the press how he ran his war room at Bolton. With a team of 22 comprising coaches, physios, psychologists, masseurs and even the kit man. How they met for hours a time working on plans and strategies.

The good news is that well respected coach Steve Round currently with Steve McClaren at England could be joining to work alongside Nigel Pearson with the first team.

Though it’s expected that Bolton's performance director Mike Forde and head of sports science Mark Taylor will join us in the near future there is clearly a lot of back room recruitment still to be done over the summer.

Quite where Lee Clark and Terry McDermott fit in the war room remains to be seen.

Meanwhile in the Board room the cull is finally over as Russell Cushing becomes the last of the old guard to leave, except for Freddie of course who’s staying on to help the handover.

Chris Mort has arrived to conduct a top to bottom review of the club and will have Sam Allardyce reporting directly to him. Also Steve Hayward comes to head up the Marketing Department and work on the Brand image.
